Now that school is out and summer has begun, it is important to remember to use sun protection and stay hydrated when outside with friends and family. Throughout July, NVIH is recognizing UV Safety Awareness Month, emphasizing sun safety and proper protection measures.
This past month, our Community Health and Outreach team organized Retinal Screening Days in Chico, Willows, and Woodland. This event is crucial in helping our community identify diabetic retinopathy early, as there are typically no symptoms in the early stages. If you missed this event, ask your provider about retinal screening at your appointment. Be sure to check the Community Health and Outreach calendars posted on our website and social media for more upcoming events.
Please note that NVIH will be closed on July 4th in observance of Independence Day. We wish you a Happy 4th of July holiday!
