February is a time to focus on prevention, early care, and building healthy habits that support lifelong wellness. At Northern Valley Indian Health, we are proud to stand with our communities in raising awareness and providing care that supports the whole person.
February is Heart Health Month, a time to focus on preventing and managing heart disease. Throughout the month, NVIH will be sharing helpful resources, practical tips, and educational information to support heart health for individuals and families of all ages.
On February 6, we observe Wear Red Day, an important reminder of the impact heart disease and stroke have—especially on women’s heart health. We encourage our community to wear red in support and join us in spreading awareness about risk factors, prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
February is also Children’s Dental Health Month, highlighting the importance of early oral care. Our dental teams work closely with children and families to promote healthy smiles and positive experiences that support lifelong confidence and well-being.
In addition, we recognize several meaningful awareness days this month:
-
World Cancer Day on February 4, honoring those affected by cancer and emphasizing prevention and early screening.
-
International Childhood Cancer Day on February 15, honoring the strength of children facing cancer and the families who support them.
This month is a great reminder to schedule preventive care visits, stay up to date on screenings, and reach out to your care team with any health concerns. We also invite you to follow Northern Valley Indian Health on Facebook and Instagram, where we will be sharing heart health resources, educational posts, and wellness tips throughout February.
Please note that Northern Valley Indian Health will be closed on Monday, February 16, in observance of Presidents Day. We encourage patients to plan appointments and prescription needs in advance.
Thank you for trusting Northern Valley Indian Health with your care. It is our honor to serve you and our communities.
Warm regards,
