August is a meaningful month for community health, bringing together several important observances that highlight prevention, education, and compassionate care.
As we recognize National Immunization Awareness Month, we encourage individuals and families to stay informed about recommended vaccinations and to partner with their healthcare providers to protect themselves and those around them. Immunizations remain one of the most effective ways to prevent serious illness and support healthier communities.
We’re also proud to celebrate National Health Center Awareness Month, including National Health Center Week (August 2–8). Community health centers play a vital role in ensuring that quality, affordable healthcare is available to everyone, regardless of their circumstances. Every day, our dedicated providers and staff work to improve lives by delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care close to home.
During World Breastfeeding Week (August 1–7), we recognize the importance of supporting families through education, encouragement, and access to services that help children get the healthiest possible start in life.
As August concludes, we observe National Grief Awareness Day (August 30) and International Overdose Awareness Day (August 31). These observances remind us of the importance of compassion, mental health support, and expanding access to treatment and recovery resources while honoring those whose lives have been impacted by loss and substance use.
We remain committed to improving the health and well-being of our communities through prevention, education, and accessible, high-quality healthcare. Thank you for trusting us to be your partner in health.
Together, we can continue creating healthier futures for everyone.
