April is Stress Awareness Month, an opportunity to highlight the importance of recognizing and managing stress as part of overall health.
Stress is something everyone experiences, but when it becomes overwhelming or long-lasting, it can affect both physical and mental health. At Northern Valley Indian Health, we are committed to supporting the whole person through integrated care that includes medical, behavioral health, dental, and community health services.
April also includes several important health observances that reflect our ongoing commitment to community wellness. Autism Awareness Day on April 2 is a time to recognize and celebrate individuals with autism and promote understanding and inclusion. From April 6-12, National Public Health Week highlights the importance of prevention, education, and strong community health systems. On April 7, World Health Day reminds us of the global importance of health equity and access to care, and April 10, National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day brings attention to the importance of education, prevention, and support for young people.
Each of these observances connects to the work we do every day, supporting individuals and families with the resources, care, and education they need to live healthier lives.
Our team works every day to help patients access services, build healthy coping strategies, and find support when life’s challenges feel overwhelming. Whether it’s talking with a healthcare provider, connecting with behavioral health services, or learning practical tools to manage stress, help is available.
Taking small steps to care for your well-being can make a meaningful difference. This month, we encourage our community to prioritize self-care, reach out for support when needed, and check in on friends and family members who may also be experiencing stress.
Northern Valley Indian Health remains committed to caring for our communities and supporting health and wellness in every stage of life.
